2 points Win Cherry Blossom (6/5 Generally)
Cherry Blossom made a satisfactory debut in a Listed race at Naas last month on soft ground. She was given a soft ride by Ryan Moore on that occasion and she will have learnt plenty for the experience. You would imagine she will take a big step forward today and the extra furlong should be in her favour. She is a short price but I can see her going off at odds on.
3.55 Ascot
1 point each way Golden Move (9/2 Paddy power/ Betfair, 4 places or else 9/2 William Hill, 3 places)
Golden Move was impressive on his handicap debut last time out at Doncaster. That was over today’s 1m 4f trip on soft ground and he was strong in the finish to get the better of Graham. The front two were 7 lengths clear of the third and the 5 lbs raise he got from the handicapper looks more than fair. He must have a rock solid each way chance in this.
4.30 Ascot
1 point each way Washington Heights (9/2 Skybet/ Betfred, 4 places or else 11/2 Bet365/ William Hill, 3 places)
Washington Heights is taking on his old foe again in the form of Quinalt but I expect Washington Heights to finish ahead of the race favourite today which makes him a value each way play. He has finished second to Quinalt twice and was fourth behind him in his last race. Before that he bumped into Shaquille so he deserves to get his head in front for a change. He is now 13 lbs better off in the weights when beaten a head by him at York back in June. Holly Doyle is onboard and there is a lot to like about his chances today.
